Mickey Pigg’s Bar-b-que – Alto, Georgia

mickey pig's bbq

January 16th, a late to-go lunch at Mickey Piggs Bar-b-que on the way up to Sky Valley, Georgia. Mickey Pigg’s caught my eye being that it was located right off the highway in a sort of small strip mall shopping center. The service was great…everyone was extremely helpful…I must have been asked 3 times if I had been helped.

Lets get down on to the meat… honestly I was not very impressed. I ordered the pork plate with 2 sides, BBQ beans and mashed potatoes. The pork was the shredded type, and it was not premixed in the sauce. My first impression was that it was a little chewy with not a whole lot of flavor. The sauce however was tasty and adding it to the meat added some flavor. The bbq beans were very good with a full flavor to them. I did not eat the mashed potatoes. I probably would not go back although the homemade pies looked delicious and the service was excellent.

Lunch to-go was 6.62 without tip, appetizer or desert.
